Today, we will mainly discuss issues related to printed documents. At present, our common page layout software includes: Adobe InDesign, PageMaker, QuarkXPress, and Microsoft Publisher. Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, and CorelDraw are all ideal for creating support patterns. To ensure print quality, you first need to make sure that the software and plug-ins used by the printing service provider are the same as your version. Sending Fonts Even if you use common fonts, such as Times, Helvetica, and Palatino, you also need to send them to the printer along with the file. Fonts will change with changes in software versions and developers, as well as TrueType, Postscript, and OpenType. When the job is delivered to the pre-press processing department, the corresponding font must be sent in the past. Avoid confusing fonts in TrueType, Postscript, or OpenType formats. If you are making an EPS file that contains text and you haven't converted the text to a curve, then send the used font to the printer. Using a font manager similar to Suitcase or FontReserve can help you better organize and collect fonts for print shops. If not, don't use special fonts. Try to select fonts that are in the font. Otherwise, when you import the files into the printing software, some of the characters will change. A printing service provider must sign an agreement with a software developer to use the same as an individual user, and must also be qualified to inspect, edit, and print any type of Adobe font. It is an offence to share or copy a font that exceeds the scope of the license, or to print the original file containing the font if the printer does not qualify for the use of a font. Image-related notes Send a copy of all the images used in the file, and if possible, send a layered Photoshop file. This will allow the printer to make the necessary changes to the document at the last minute before printing. Make sure all links are valid and timely. The most important thing is to create the same image element on the same layer. Send industry-standard format files that can be used in print production: EPS (Encapsulated Postscript), TIF (TIF) and JPEG (Joint Photographers Expert Group). Do not send file formats that cannot be supported in a print production environment: GIF (Graphics Interchange Format), BMP (bitmap), and WMF (Windows Metafile). Just provide the documents, images, and fonts involved in your print project. Resolution and Ink Coverage In the same size as the finished product, the resolution of the grayscale and CMYK diagrams should be around 300dpi, while the resolution of black and white images (bitmaps) should be between 800-1200dpi. In the darkest areas, the ink coverage of the grayscale image should not exceed 90%-95%, and in the case of printing on uncoated paper, the coverage of ink in the shaded portion should be between 80% and 85%. When printing on coated and uncoated paper, the ink coverage of CMYK images should not exceed 320% and 300%. For example, if you print 85% cyan, 75%, 75% yellow, and 85% black on coated paper, the total ink coverage is 320%.
